High-Quality, High-Style: Fore20's Acapulco Gold Shirt

I’m a t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops kind of guy living here in Vegas where Summer comes early and stays late, but I recently got a little update to add some cannabis style to my wardrobe. I received a shirt from Fore20 Golf apparel, specifically the Acapulco Gold design! It’s an athletic collared shirt covered in black and gold patterned cannabis leaves, perfect for golf and hanging out in the desert. My golf game has only just begun after getting a swing evaluation done. I’ve got a really long way to go before hitting the green, but that doesn’t mean I can’t start looking the part, right? I was looking forward to seeing the design in person, and it did not disappoint.
The shirt came nicely folded over cardstock, with no packaging frills, but none needed. Shaking it out the pattern was bold and vivid covering the whole shirt and matching the black and gold theme for Apartment 113 perfectly. I was pleased with the choice and style. The band collar on it is different from a standard folded collar, providing that collared look in a subtle way that allows the shirt to be dressed up or down. There are two buttons on the front with a small green tag showing the Fore20 Golf brand below them. The overlaying leaves give a nice uniform feel to the shirt while staying true to the solid plant pattern design. The fabric is moisture-wicking, quick-dry, anti-wrinkle and UPF 50+ (ultraviolet protection) with a composition of 92% polyester, 8% spandex (for that four-way elastic stretch) and 180 GSM. I learned that GSM is grams per square meter along the way. 180 means you’ve got a solid shirt that should hold up to many wears from a durability perspective while not being too heavy or light.
The fit is true to size; L works perfectly for me at 6’2”, 220lbs. No complaints there at all, and the sleeves are long enough which can sometimes be a struggle. It’s loose, but not baggy, and not so long that it has to be tucked in, but it definitely could be if that’s your look. When it comes to comfort, I may have found my new favorite shirt for the summer. It’s very soft and lightweight as you’d expect from athletic wear. Still being triple digits here, I put it through the paces taking the dog for a walk and playing some kendama at the park. No issues there; it breathed well and kept me dry and comfortable while providing some ultraviolet protection along the way. It seems great for a long hike or playing 18 holes at the course, once I can perfect my amateur swing. Practicing some kendama tricks, it stood up to the movements and stretched when needed as I reached for the ken or tama.
Washing is simple with this one. Machine wash and hang to dry. It looks like you could iron it at medium heat, but the anti-wrinkle factor takes care of that just fine. Color and stitching were not affected by the wash everything is looking just as crispy and sharp as it did the first day. After wearing it three times, my opinions on the shirt didn’t change. It fits great, adapts well to the heat and looks sweet. The black and gold pattern makes it easy to match, and I’m not great at that. It’s definitely a little bolder than my standard plain t-shirt, but I dig it and enjoy repping some cannabis leaves wherever I go.
Fore20 Golf makes men’s and women's clothes with a few accessories planned in the future. Most of the designs reference a cannabis strain like OG Kush and Angel Cake or a mushroom variety like Golden Teacher. Many of the designs do feature cannabis, in some form or another, but there are non-cannabis patterns to be found as well, like the Forbidden Fruit (which may be next on my list) and Peace & Love. All in all, there are some excellent and creative patterns to choose from each as vibrant and bold as the next. The accessories are coming soon and include gold head covers and golfing gloves.
As you can see here, I enjoy the shirt and find it fits great and wears wonderfully. The pattern is cannabis forward but subtle, and it’s been very durable so far. Being a high-quality fabric and bringing a lot to the table, the price is medium-high but similar to most other dress shirts. I think the fact you can wear it while chilling in shorts or dress it up with chinos makes up for this by giving it some versatility.
