Episode 210 - March 2026 Special
Episode 210 is the 8th episode of Season 4.
We’re back with another special featuring Dustin Hoxworth, Founder of Fat Nugs Magazine as co-host. This month we dig into cannabis policy, global models and the economic and cultural forces shaping the industry in 2026.
We start in France, where prohibition is becoming more aggressive and more controversial at the same time, raising questions about public safety, enforcement priorities and the collapse of its medical program. From there we look at Uruguay’s Cannabis Social Clubs ten years in, exploring whether they represent a viable middle path between prohibition and corporate cannabis. We then break down Tilray’s acquisition of BrewDog as cannabis companies continue pushing into beverage, and head to New York where lawmakers are considering THC drinks in liquor stores as the line between cannabis and alcohol continues to blur.
Next we turn to the growing debate around taxation, from national arguments that excessive taxes are undermining legal markets to Michigan’s move to roll back a new wholesale tax. We also look at new workplace data linking on-the-job cannabis intoxication to injury risk and what that means for evolving employer policy, before closing on emerging research into hemp as a potential renewable energy source.
Then in part two we’re joined by Melanie Wentzel to hear more of her story and talk about cannabis in Australia, including patient access, women’s health and the role cannabis may play in the future of global healthcare systems.
