Episode 247 is the 45th episode of Season 4.
Today we're joined by Robb Harmon, founder of Veterans Cannabis Care and president of Marijuana Express M.D., a medical cannabis certification office outside Orlando that has seen about 8,000 patients since 2019. Veterans Cannabis Care covers the doctor visit and the state fees so qualified veterans can get a Florida medical card at no cost. Robb is not a veteran himself, but his father and brother both served and he has been giving back to the community.
In this one, Robb tells us how the free card program came together. He spent about a year hearing veterans in his office say they wanted to try cannabis and could not afford the card. He added a day with the doctor and opened it up for free. The first month, fewer than half of the veterans who signed up showed up. The monthly event is now booked months out.
He walks us through what happens in that room. Each veteran gets about twenty minutes with the doctor and a first lesson in reading a COA, starting with the terpenes instead of the THC number. The room is full of other veterans on purpose. We wrap up with his November 29 event at a VFW in Orlando, where 100 veterans get cards and nothing is for sale.
