Episode 250 - October 2026 Special, Part 2

Episode 250 is the 48th episode of Season 4.

This is part two of Forbidden Sessions Vol. 2, our free online conference recorded live on October 28 with speakers from across cannabis and psychedelics. George Breiwa is the inventor and founder of DynaVap, which makes thermal extraction devices for dry flower. Sasha Kalcheff-Korn is the executive director of Realm of Caring, a national nonprofit focused on research, education and patient access to cannabinoid-based care. Jacob Tell is the founder of District 216, a psychedelic social club in Santa Barbara. Gary Laderman is a professor of religion at Emory University and the author of Sacred Drugs.

In this one, George explains heating flower instead of burning it and the difference between ritual and habitual consumption. Sasha walks us through how Realm of Caring helps patients speak with their representatives and the research it has collected for more than a decade, including a new survey of first-time cannabis users. Jacob tells us how District 216 grew from community events during the pandemic into a weekly gathering with marquee events of 250 to 300 people, and where the club model goes next. We close with Gary on how drugs and religion overlap, from pharmaceutical ads to the psychedelic boom of the 1950s and where religion goes next.
