Peanut Butter Souffle, Cured Resin Sugar - baseline_
Systemic Assessment Protocol® completed by Certified Ganjier™ Rob Sanchez
Peanut Butter Souffle is an Indica leaning Do-Si-Dos x Lava Cake cross bred by Phinest and Cannarado. If you look deeper into the lineage here, you’ll find some very popular cultivars have been rolled into this one.
Let’s start with Do-Si-Dos, which can be found in many modern cultivar lineages. Its origins stem from OG Kush Breath a pheno of Girl Scout Cookies that was crossed with a pheno of Face Off OG to create the hearty, delicious, good yielder we know as Do-Si-Dos.
The other parent in this cultivar is hard to pin down because one version is bread by ThugPug Genetics (great name and logo there) that crosses Do-Si-Dos with Mendo Breath.
The Mendo Breath has a strong origin with GDP x Durban poison leading to Cherry Pie and a few backcrosses with Mendo Montage that ultimately hails from White Widow.
If I had to guess, I’d say my sample is the Lava Cake cross not the Mendo Breath and that’s because of the intense grape notes in the aroma. Lava Cake is something special, crossing the very popular GSC with Grape Pie.
Both variants of Peanut Butter Breath have Cherry Pie (Durban Poison x GDP) in their lineage which means it’s got quite a nose. Terps jump out of the jar on this one with a sour, funky grape that lingers for quite some time.
The sample had an even consistency, a touch on the dry side for sugar, but reasonable for cured resin. Sugar has since taken the solvent based concentrates market by storm. It yields a nice looking product with good terpene representation. This sample was a little darker in color, which could be due to the PB Souffle flower being a naturally purple finisher.
The flavor of this stayed true to the aroma. Where some samples can have a flavor that differs from the aroma, this one walks the same line with a charred grape note mingling with baked goods and spicy pepper that leaves a brief kiss of sweetness.
Effects are pretty quick to rise and come on strong with the Myrcene, Caryophyllene and Humulene dominance. It’s a sleepier experience, but I found it balanced across the board with a moderate duration and slight hunger increase.
If you’re in Las Vegas and looking for something tasty, you can’t go wrong with concentrates from Baseline_. At a good price and quality point, they’re excellent entries.
